What Jesus Looks Like

The trailer looked so trashed that I rechecked the address.

Yes, this was the right place! Oh my, was the place even safe for an adult, let alone a 6-month- old baby?

A man was outside on the steps smoking. I said, “Is ‘T’ here?” “Yeah, you that lady who helps her about the kid? Maybe you can get that f____ing brat to stop bawlin.” My worry went up another notch.

‘T’ came out with the baby. Under her careful makeup I could see an ugly bruise on her cheekbone. Worry for her and her baby went up to its top notch.

‘T’, tell me what is going on here. . .

A story about it being a drug crash pad, too many people, no food, and physical and emotional abuse came tumbling out. I was so glad she trusted me enough to tell me the truth.

We sat in my car while I made some calls. Eventually we found a safe house situation that would take them both. We moved them in that very afternoon. Thank you Lord, for your provision!

This is what being Jesus in a young mom’s life looks like and I love doing it!

In spite of covid-19, God is providing Denver Area YFC with important work to do! We are honored to come alongside teens who need to experience and hear about the God who loves them!

Thank you for being a part of the ongoing conversation with youth in our city and helping us share God’s story.  It’s our honor to be the storytellers on your behalf who meet kids right where they are and give life to their story.

Providing young people in our community with the opportunity to make an informed decision to be a follower of Jesus  Christ and become part of a local church.
